Moneysupermarket is the UK`s premier provider of online financial-services comparison tools and services, and one of the fastest growing companies in the North West. We handle comparison requests for over 170,000 users per day, generating thousands of online applications. Moneysupermarket.com is a young, dynamic and fast growing company who are looking to recruit a SQL Server DBA to join their IT Service Division.
The role involved 90% SQL Server administration and and 10% VB development. You will have experience of designing and implementing new database schemas as well as maintaining and supporting existing SQL Server infrastructures. You will implement, monitor and maintain SQL Server schedule jobs, backups, recovery processes, alerts and database storage needs. You will document and roll out updates to live databases, develop MIS*OLAP solutions and support the datawarehouse. Experience of SQL Server performance monitoring and tuning and designing and implementing SQL Server replication solutions for diverse operating environments would be a distinct advantage.
The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years SQL Server administration and development experience within a web or financial environment. You will be a team player with preferably 12 months VB or VB.net data tier development experience and be an excellent communicator, enthusiastic, ambitious and eager to learn and develop. Experience of mentoring and advising junior team members would be advantageous.
